Cant we just go together and do a demonstration outside her house, claiming her to write a book about him? Or we can pay her, anything to know about his new life and fate! Its so sad and painful not to know if he ever were happy again... I want im to go home to the place he was born, and meet his family.
i would definately be up for that! infact, for a while, my life aim was to punch madame hobb for even DARING to cause her characters so much pain!
i wish that Beloved didn't live as long as white prophets do (naturally of course) because then it'd all be so simple. his family would still be alive and he could be with Fitzy without seeing him die. its so sad. but you know at the end of the Tawny man trilogy? hes probably about 60 years old at the start of the tawny man trilogy!
he said he was older than fitz and nighteyes put together. when he said this fitz was 35, he got nighteyes when he was about 20, so that 50 years old!
its really alot to think about, but i still love him/her all the same.
also, do you think he/she is male or female?
of his known facets, we have one definately female (Amber) one definately male (lord Golden) and one never specified (Fool)
i cant quite make my mind up.
can you?
♥
Oh my gosh, he must be about 80 years old in the end. *faints* I hope he doesnt look that old Well, he doesnt, its obvious, otherwise it should be mentioned in the books. They just tell that he has changed into something darker, with more as I picture it manly lines.
Oh, that question. I juggled it for ages but then I came to the decision that he is whatever he is. I dont care anymore, its so unimportant, he/she is telling us that even in the books. Peoples are their personalities, the gender is just something we have to breed. And I guess prophets arent supposed to breed, so they havent got any gender. They have to be able to understand all humans, both women and men, so they are, well, why not both? It isnt that strange, really, I think its very natural and highly developed.
( but still, I write Beloved as him. Because it feels wrong to say it. In japanese, there are a word for she/he, I wish it could be in english to. I guess I write he also because I read Farseer and Tawny Man first, and then about Amber. ) What do you think?
i really dont care either.
i think that because the pale woman thought he was male, he probably is, because it is unlikely that he started his charade from such a young age, but even so...
i think hobb gives some really deep meaning about homophobia. because if we dont know if beloved is male or female, we dont know if he is gay or straight, but we still love him either way, so why souldnt it be true for humans?
i read all the books in order *smiles smugly* cos my mum told me too. lmao that sounds so lame. well, she read them first then convinced me to and now i have nicked them off her :d
and shes not getting them back.
♥
Yes, your right, I havent thought of that... Thats clever of you!
Yes, I think she wants us to react and think about many things in her books, thats another thing that I like with her. She is not afraid to go deep, and make the reader ask him/herself questions about taboo subjects, gender, philosophy, magic, science, races etc. An example is Thick ( is that his original name...? ) the boy in the Tawny Man books who is an idiot, a mentally handicapped. He is very interesting, and I love her for giving him credit and respect.
Your mom has read them! You must have a lovely mom! My parens never read, its just me and my sister, we eats books. ^^
yeah, she shows alot about fitz's kind of... disgust at thick, but how underneath it all he's just a normal person, who acts younger and thinks differently to people.
yeah my mum does read a reasonable amount but she never remembers anything from the books. i absorb information and words, quotes and page numbers, but she just reads it once and forgets about it. she also only reads one book at a time, but right now im reading 9!
this is a gorgeous picture.
he is beauty personified xx
